A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

Most organizations cannot exist without a membership backing and the Lower Grand River Land Trust is no exception. A Membership base is crucial to the success or failure to any organization. Our Land Trust offers land stewardship and a National Historic Site and because we continue to attract individuals and groups with varied interests, we continue to grow in membership. However, we cannot sit back and hope that those memberships will be renewed and new ones acquired without a simple reminder.

Throughout the year our members have been able to promote Land Trust membership at numerous outdoor and indoor events off-site and at our own special events. Nonetheless, it is imperative that our membership moves in a positive direction in order that we have that essential support and funds for our staff and volunteer projects. We are aware that there are countless other similar groups vying for your charitable dollar and respectfully request that you consider becoming a member (if not presently one), and accept a reminder to renew (if you are a member) and if you joined before 2003.

Please take a minute out of your day to fill in the membership form presented in this Newsletter and forward it with your cheque to the address given. Membership to the LGRLT entitles you to the receipt of our Riversong, free access to Ruthven, reduced rates to our workshops and special events, and access to our new Gate House Resource Library.

President, Lower Grand River Land Trust Inc.
